Life.
Actually,
this is not true. Life is one continuing experience, and some aspects
of this experience are pleasant, and some are not. Some are joyful
and some are painful, but whatever they are, their reality is that
they are impermanent. Nothing lasts for more than the shortest
duration of time and whatever we experience only ever has the power
and influence in our lives that we give it.
This
is an important truth to realise! Whatever we hold on to will hurt
us. Whatever we make important will cause us pain. Whatever we
believe becomes our truth.
But
the Absolute Truth, the Dhamma, is clear; Anger is only anger, fear
is only fear, doubt is only doubt. Everything is arising and passing
away, and has only the power we give it.
So
look at your life. Look at what you hold on to. Look at what you
empower. There is nothing worth fighting for, nothing worth killing
for, and nothing worth dying for. There are only ideas. There are
only movements of mind, and each one is only what it is, until you
take hold of it and make it into your own personal world!
May all beings be happy.
