Meditation & Pure Dhamma.
Our meditation practice is such a beautiful thing, from the elegance of the
posture, to the goal of our effort, to be free from the influence of that
troublesome part of ourselves that creates difficulties wherever we go.
Self identity or ego is the insidious identification with mind and body as
being who and what we think we are. That simple identification can never bring
peace, and so through wise reflection and a determined attitude we let go and
let go and let go.
And even if you think that your practice is not going well, and your mind
is busy thinking and reliving the day, or dreaming, fantasizing and falling
asleep, at least you are not out in the world, harming other beings,
or causing pain and misery.
You are here, sitting beautifully like a Buddha, still and
elegant, surrendering to the simple discipline of our practice, to live with
love and be aware, and allowing the universe to unfold naturally.
This is the way to hear the heart, to let go of the Mara mind, and put down
the burden we struggle through life with. Now we can bring the gift of our
selfless self to all our relationships.
May all beings be happy.
