Freedom
Who-ever we are, our Dhamma journey is the same; from
darkness to light, fear to love, ignorance to the liberating
wisdom.
As we sit in meditation, we might think that others have
a much easier time than we do, but our journey is always
completely personal, and so we never really know what
others have met or continue to meet as a consequence of their
old story.
The world that we experience is the one that we create for
ourselves moment after moment by our habits of indulging or
repressing the mind as it manifests into our life.
To be free from its influence, we have to be patient and loving
to ourselves and allow everything to arise without prejudice.
We give our permission for the mind to do anything it wants,
and we will be peaceful and accepting of it.
It’s just a story, and now it’s just another fantasy to keep you
awake at night.
To awaken and so be free to live without fear and anxiety
we must let go of our emotional relationship to the past, no
matter how enticing the drama of it is, and leave all those
destructive emotions where they belong.
It happened, it’s over, don’t carry it with you anymore.
It’s
now only dead weight, another burden in your life.
The word Vipassana means to ‘see things as they really are’
and through your own personal investigation you will see
that mind can be your best friend or your worst enemy - it all
depends on you, but liberation from the cause and conditions
of your unhappiness is always available. You just have to
want it enough.
May all beings be happy.
