Not you.

We formulate an identity from what we do rather than who we are. We become stuck in an idea created from conditioning. But in truth, there is nothing that we really are, and no way we have to be. These are just ideas. When we look behind these ideas we will see they are empty. The mind is moving in every moment and we cannot fix it to a time or place or idea. Whatever we grasp at as our identity, is just a movement of the mind and as soon as it has arisen, it has passed.
So stop clinging to the mind and reflect; when you are alone in the house, what are you?
Are you a mother or a father, an office worker, a bus driver? And when you wash the dishes is a dish washer really what you are? These are transient identities appropriate to time, place and circumstance, but none of them are you!
Remember, freedom is not something to be get, it is something to realise. You are already free and the only limitations you face in your life are the ones that you impose upon yourself.

May all beings be happy.
