Why this Blog?
For more than fifty years I have been committed to Dhamma training and practice. I began when I was eighteen years old, with Transcendental Meditation, and then moved to Zen practice, both Soto and Rinzai styles, until I finally met my enduring teacher, Sayadaw Rewata Dhamma in the Theravada tradition of Buddhism.
From the moment of that first meeting, I knew I had met my path and my Master.
I stayed with him for twenty two years as both an ordained monk and lay man until his death in 2004.
On his direct instruction I began to travel and share this Dhamma, teaching in America, Israel, the United Kingdom and Europe.
For ten seasons I was the Master at the International Meditation Centre, Budh Gaya, India and welcomed Westerners and Indians to our Vipassana and Dhamma practice with my assistant teacher Henry Bowen.
In 2002 at a special Buddha day celebration at the Dhamma Talaka temple I was honored with the title, Dhammachariya, meaning Master.
Now I do not travel so much, but it is my wish to continue sharing Dhamma to those who have ears to hear and the desire to practice.
This blog then, is simply an extension of that wish.
I look forward to connecting and following you on your blog Dear Michael.
