Reality

Violence does not belong to the heart and so cannot be a part of our loving way of Dhamma.
Violence belongs to the mind, the mind of ‘self’, the mind of fear, the mind of division, the mind of hatred.
When the heart is open all beings are intuitively recognised as having equal value, no above or below, no in front or behind, no greater or lesser, only universal equality, and so to harmonise with the world of the heart is to find perfect peace in life. Naturally arising then is the pure intention to serve, to protect, to encourage, to love. These are the qualities of the compassionate caring heart.
However, the world is filled with un-awakened beings, with each person seeking the same sense of security and stability in life, but always looking in the wrong place. Because of this need to feel comfortable and secure, devices that promise such things become a commodity that can be traded - now we enter the world of politics, social manipulation and religious beliefs. These are all mind born entities and whereas the heart simply accepts and responds with kindness, this mind exploits either grossly or subtly, the perceived weakness of others.
This is why the world is as we see it. It’s not nature and it’s not inevitable but it is the reality of the moment, and that, no matter how painful it can be, is what we must accept, simply because it is the reality. Reality is always unrelenting and so arising from that, if we have clear eyes, we can see our place in this often unkind and confused way of being.
We must reflect honestly, ‘what is it that I contribute to this world, more fear-based ideologies or a loving embrace of all beings?’
Anything that brings us to this fearless state of love can be considered a gift in our life. The moment we intuitively understand that love is always the answer, we will share the most beautiful part of ourselves with all beings without reservation or resistance.
Those who argue for wars and support any kind of violent behaviour towards others illuminate the way of delusion and so become the gifts in our life. Because of this lighting of darkness, we can see a more beautiful way to live and so firmly establish ourselves on the path of love.

May all beings be happy.
