Seeking Dhamma.
The
belief in the superficial equation that 'if I do this I will get
that.'
Sometimes it works the way we would like and other times
not at all, and then everything in between. In other words, certainty
does not exist in the conventional world, and so we struggle with
life.
We pin our hopes on all the things that ultimately fail us,
not because there is something wrong with them, but only that we
expect more than they can offer.
We spend so much time trying to
fix things in life to feel secure, when actually we don't need to fix
them at all, we need to understand them. The moment we understand the
reality of life we are free from the unhappiness that arises from the
attachment to our dream states, and the consequent expectations that
things will be perfect for us.
Often it seems that money offers a
security, and whilst this may appear to be true in the conventional
world it is not true for the heart. So what to do?
Everyone who
has awoken to life has met this moment, from the Buddha to every
disciple. It is called, 'the opening of the wisdom eye.' We look at
our life and think their must be a better way to live than this, and
there is, we just have to find it.
So now, take some time to
reflect and ask yourself what you want to do with the next part of
your life and remember, you may not know what you want, but you
always know what you don't want, you only have to be brave enough to
listen to your heart.
Like it or not we are all connected and
truth is the only thing that will serve you. Not with new age
spiritual sound bites and half understood teachings, but with support
from the true and loving Dhamma heart.
Transcending the needs of
'self' is the greatest gift we can bring to ourselves and all
beings.
May all beings be happy.
